As I was preparing for a singing performance, my faience insisted that I came over to his home before leaving. Before I could leave home, he called again. I could hear the trembling in his voice. As I arrived at his home he stopped me at the door telling me I didn't have to come in. What he had to say, he could say it at the door.

He thanked me for being in his life, but we had to go our separate ways. He still loved me and wanted to keep in touch but the relationship was over. I LOOKED AT HIM AS IF HE LOST HIS MIND. I backed away from him, even though he tried to hold me in his arms. He was shaking and crying, I thought something was mighty wrong with this picture. Did I say, or do something to change his mind about our relationship? A few weeks before he wanted me to be his bride. What could have happened?

With the mixed emotions I turned away to leave, excepting what had just been said. He stated he only had one question to ask me. WILL YOU BE MY WIFE! I started laughing hysterically and never answered him. He got down on one knee and said you never answered me. WILL YOU BE MY WIFE! I said YES!

For Valentine's Day, we decided to have a picnic along beautiful Sydney Harbour. There was a secret place that we went to occasionally that no one else went to. I gave Greg and wishlist of my favorite foods: oysters, French champagne, pate, chevre, etc.

In the middle of our glorious picnic, I stood up whereupon Greg fell to his knees and grabbed me. My first thought was,"Oh no, he's having a heart attack!" I could feel his heard beating quite rapidly and it scared me. That is when he 'popped the question'. What a pleasant surprise!

I was in such a state of shock to begin with, as I had pictured delivering CPR in the first place!

I had a bad day so I came home, took a shower, and laid down to bed. Then about an hour later he came home from work and, of course, the bedroom door was shut so he peeked in to let me know he was home. He kind of woke me up and gave me a kiss on the cheek, told me he loved me and I laid back down.

About 10-15 minutes later I heard a loud scream that said "Honey hurry come here". So, thinking he hurt himself, I jumped out of bed and ran to the bedroom door. As I swing the door open I see him on one knee with one arm out and one arm behind his back. He lead me to his knee and set me down then ask if I knew what I meant to him and he told me how much he loved me.

Then he told me how much he would love me to be his wife. I cried! Then he carried me to the bedroom, the door shut, and the lights went out!!!

I have been waiting for this day. The day was October 21st 2000. Sweetest day. My fiancé spent 2 hours in our bedroom. I thought he was wrapping my present. After waiting for him, he came out empty handed. Then we went out. We decided to try a new restaurant. The place was a dive. Food was o.k. but not what we expected. Then we went bowling (I won) and saw a band. My fiancé keep saying he couldn't wait to get home. I never knew what hit me.

We finally decided to go home at about 1:30 am. When we got home, we opened one beer to split between us. He told me to sit down. I did. Then he pulls this letter out of his pocket. Now back before this night, we use to fight about who loved each other more. The saying that we tossed back and forth was that we loved each other infinity and beyond. He told me that he wrote this letter because he knew he would never remember exactly what he wanted to say. The first half of the letter was general information, thing I already knew. Then he goes on to say how my he wants to spend the rest of his life with me. Then he says "Will you please say yes when I ask you to be my wife. Will you marry me?" Of course I said yes.

Earlier that day he was gone. He explained to me he was looking for a ring. But couldn't find one that I would like. So the next day, we went looking for a ring. And here I am today May 17, 2001 making the final details for my wedding day.

I planned out first REAL vacation together. We went to St. Thomas Virgin Islands. The entire week there was magical and the memories will last forever. Especially the memory I have of our last day in St. Thomas.

We spent the day at Magen's Bay. The beach was beautiful. We basked in the sun and took many dips in the ocean. We combed the shallow waters for starfish and marveled at the variety of colors and sizes we found. I giggled as the starfish walked along my hands. When evening came we returned to our resort to shower and then went into town for a romantic dinner at an elegant Italian restaurant. Satisfied with a delicious meal and romantic chatter over our dinner we returned once again to our resort.

Our last night there we decided to walk the beach that our resort was located on and collect sand to bring home as a keepsake. We walked hand and hand along the ocean's edge with the water wrapping around our feet and ankles with each wave. Sitting down on a lounge chair together we marveled at all the stars and clear sky. While we listened to the waves my fiancé asked me if I had made a wish the other night when I had witnessed two shooting stars in the sky from our balcony. I looked at him and said that it happened so fast and that I was so amazed at what I had seen that I never made a wish. He suggested that I close my eyes and wish upon those shooting stars at that very moment. I closed my eyes and then got butterflies in my stomach. When I opened my eyes, my fiancé was down on one knee in the sand.

The lighthouse on a nearby hill shone its bright light across the sky as the stars twinkled. He took my hand, gently placed the ring on my finger and asked, "Will you be my wife?" As my eyes filled with tears I noticed how the diamonds on the ring twinkled just like the stars. I said, "Of course I will!" and embraced him with a hug as he stroked my hair and I cried.

We sat on the beach for about 45 minutes thereafter as I cried intermittently. We kissed, hugged, caressed and talked about how this was the best vacation ever! He told me that 2 months prior he went to my parents and asked permission for my hand in marriage. I've been engaged for 1 week now and am the happiest woman on earth!

My then-boyfriend had arranged with my family for me to be tied up baby-sitting my niece one Saturday. My sister in law then "mysteriously" canceled and with the whole day "suddenly" free: he suggested we go on a picnic.

We went to a very romantic setting at the topiary gardens. When we picked a spot to picnic in, he reached into the picnic basket and brought out a bridal bouquet of dozens of pink roses and handed them to me. He reached in to the basket again, took out a jewelry box, and got down on one knee and very romantically asked me to marry him. I tearfully said yes of course!

After a wonderful champagne picnic and walk in the gardens, we went and told our parents, and then he whisked me off to a romantic dinner to complete the day.

Everything was magical - just like us!
