I am a student pilot in my spare time. I met my wonderful partner, Liam right after my first ever lesson. He was completing his commercial pilot's license at my flying school and now instructs there.

Liam proposed to me last year, at 4000 ft whilst I was flying!

We were flying a big, twin-engined plane to Tasmania (island state of Australia) for a holiday. This particular plane has only one control column, which can be flicked over to the right hand seat. (Pilots fly from the left-hand seat) It also has a huge red autopilot disconnect button on the rear of the column. I often fly from the right-hand seat with Liam, so he casually asked me if I wanted to fly for a while. I jumped at the opportunity. Then he told me to close my eyes. He flicked the control column over and hung the ring on the auto pilot button. Then he said 'open your eyes'. I did so, and took over flying. Then he said 'disconnect the auto pilot sweetheart'. Imagine my surprise when I saw the ring! Then he asked me to marry him.........while I'm flying this dirty big twin.

Needless to say I had to hand control back to him pretty quickly. Heading, altitude, straight and level went right out the window, I was shaking so much.

It was just so appropriate, as it was a love of aviation that brought us together. Now we just have to figure out an aviation-themed wedding!!

My boyfriend (Sean) and I had been going out for a year. We were past the stage of "just friends", and past the "boyfriend/girlfriend" stage. We were more close than that, and marriage had not really come up between us. I did not know if he even wanted to marry me, but I knew I was going to say "yes" if he did ask.

We were staying with some friends in Cincinnati (September 2002) for a week or so, and Sean told me that he had something awesome planned for us that evening. When evening rolled around, we were all going to a "fancy restaurant" as Sean, and our friends Sarah and Charlie were going out for a birthday dinner for Sarah. Sarah told me to dress nice, and I ended up wearing this black sequined dress that cost a fortune. They said that this was going to be spectacular and that they had a special ride coming for us. When I looked out the front door when it was time to leave, I saw a shining black limo.

Once en route, I asked where we were going. Charlie said that we were going to 'La Maisonette', and that happens to be the only 5-star restaurant in Ohio, as well as one of the best French restaurants around. They even hire real French chefs from France to cook for them. Once inside, the atmosphere was really elegant and smelled wonderful. Once we were seated and began looking at the menu, we all began talking and saying that how money was no problem. After all of the courses, the salad, the cheese, the escargots (snails), bread, shrimp, steak, oysters, soup, three bottles of Bordeaux, and finally coffee, we were full.

Charlie and Sarah were getting tired of sitting and so they got up and headed off somewhere for some "alone private time" as they said. Sean then got up out of his chair and when I looked at him he was getting down on one knee. He opened a little black and inside was a gleaming silver ring with a sparkling diamond on top. He asked me if I would marry him and of course I said yes!!!! I was so excited, and did not say a word to him and ran to tell Sarah. She was so happy and exited for us, and then we all went back to their house.

Now I am getting ready for my wedding, and looking forward to a new life, a life with a husband!!!!!! :)

When I asked my bride to be, Jill, she was completely shocked. Jill and I have been together for nearly seven years, and met when we were just 13 and 15 years old. That being an oddity in itself.

We had talked about marriage in the past and decided we wanted to have an 1800's Victorian wedding. That sparked the idea for the proposal. I went down to the local costume shop and rented an elaborate 1800's style men's evening suit. Then I arranged plans at a local historic B & B for her to attend a murder mystery dinner. Her friend and she went because I got called into work (NOT!).

As the actors were in the middle of a scene, I broke in and got down on one knee and asked for her hand. It was the perfect way to do ask her because of the style of our wedding. That was a moment we shall never forget!

I was proposed to on Thanksgiving morning 2002.

My fiancé and I have a favorite movie that we watch every time it's on HBO; it's called Moulin Rouge. On the morning of the proposal it was like any other morning, where we sit by the fire, reading the paper and drinking coffee together. About an hour into our morning I ran upstairs to get some laundry and I hear my finance yell up to me that Moulin Rouge was on. So, I ran downstairs sat in front of the TV and sang along to the musical as I always do.

About a half-hour into the movie there is a part where Christian (Ewan McGregor) and Sateen (Nicole Kidman) are singing their love song called the "Elephant Love Song", at about this time I see my fiancé's face come up on screen and is singing the "Love Song". He proposed to me from the movie Moulin Rouge! A beautiful song, a romantic speech and most of all an amazing proposal. About a week before he went to a television editor and had his face and voice edited into the movie. I was so surprised and shocked that I didn't say YES for 10 minutes.

I find out later that he timed it just right, as I ran upstairs he popped in the videotape into the VCR, and all along I thought I was watching HBO. It was the most romantic, thoughtful thing he has ever done for me. The best part of this whole proposal, is I can watch this special moment for years and years to come.

This is a proposal that I came up with for my niece. She is 26 years old and has a child that is now three years of age.

This story takes place in Louisville, KY. Missy's child Jake had been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. My family and friends had been preparing for a walk that was to take place at the zoo. Money raised was to help with research for Cystic Fibrosis.

Since Missy would be busy with collecting the money we raised. I knew this would be a great time to catch her off guard. Matt had told me he was going to ask her to marry him but was not sure how to go about it. After discussing I told him this would be a perfect time. So with family and friends the walk was on. We we conveniently got separated from them.

Family and friends were to meet by the gorilla exhibition. There is where we pinned letters on our shirts spelling out M-I-S-S-Y W-I-L-L Y-O-U M-A-R-R-Y M-E. When we received the call that they were coming around the corner, we all turned around and Matt got down on his knee and asked her. She was overwhelmed. Not only was she surprised but the soon to be mother-in-law and sister-in laws did not know this was going to take place. They were just as surprised.

Of course she said yes and we are preparing for the big day this Saturday. Feb. 1, 2003. Not only is she getting a wonderful husband but baby Jake is getting a father whom loves him.

It was December 31, 2002. It was two years to the day that we met. We decided that we would spend the evening at home with a home cooked meal, wine and music. Now you must understand that I had no idea he had his own plan. He is always this romantic.

I wake up to find rose petals scattered around me and one single rose atop my pillow. On the rose was attached a note that said" Good Morning Beautiful" and revealing that there are more to come. I was so excited. What a day this is going to be.

At 2pm I was to call him for a clue to the second rose. The clue was: It's a safe bet. In the safe I found my second rose, attached was a note that read "I know you want to quit smoking and you will have my whole support.(along with the rose came a little quit smoking buddy).

At 3pm look in something my "favorite color". So here I am thinking this will be easy, his favorite color is blue. I waste time by bathing, dressing and of course smoking. Is it 3 yet, yes finally, I look for something blue but can't find anything a rose would fit in, WAIT, His "favorite color", he must mean his worst but most owned color, Brown. How I hate that color, I find it in the night stand, the note reads" I know sometimes you leak, hope this helps. (I find the air hose, my tire leaks) at 4pm look in the softest kitties new spot.

At 4pm I look into a basket to find a bottle of massage oil, a rose and a note that read" I will love rubbing forever,We have one map on display piled high with games we play, look there at 5pm. Now I'm thinking were going on a trip.

Mark come home and we begin to get ready for our dinner, we are cooking chateau briean, having wine and are going to listen to classical dinner music. We put one our best cloths, decorate the dining room to meet our fancy restaurant setting, light the candles and open the wine. It must be time, At 5pm I go the map and find a rose and a note that read" I want to travel the world with you, at 6pm go look at my other true love.

So at 5pm I go into the garage and on top of his 78 Corvette I find another rose, it read" one day there will be two), at 7pm look in the other garage. Now I am beginning to wonder, and hoping that this may be the day, but still happy enough with what I am already getting. I have the most romantic man, and I know we will forever be together. We ate our dinner all dressed up, drank wine, and Mark even commented on the Music saying" my you must have picked the most expensive restaurant to have to listen to this crap". We had chuckle.

At 7pm I went downstairs to where car parts are kept and found another rose, this note read "thank you for all your help with my car, at 8pm ask me for the next clue. I tried to get them early, but no luck. We tidied up a bit, drank more wine, smoked more cigarettes and played a few games of Fooseball, and watched Las Vegas vacation. In between the movie I got the 8pm clue to look in a perfect car display case. Can you guess where that is, in my solid oak China cabinet. I find one rose and a note that read" thank you for being you, ask me at 9pm for the next clue. We wasted more time playing games, drinking beer and smoking.

At 8pm I was told to get us a beer. In the fridge I find a rose and a note that read" so many cheers and many beers to follow in the years.

At 10pm ask again. I did and I was told to go downstairs and turn on the TV I found a rose and a note that read" you know have half ownership of the remotes with training when required, next clue at 11pm.

At 11pm I went to find the 11th rose. I found it beside his guitar, the note read" now I have found my way, for you I will pick away. We sat upstairs in the "pretty room". Mark played, we sang, we laughed and I wondered about that 12 rose.

It was getting close to midnight and he begins to sing a poem he has written. I can not recall all the words but I do remember some the last line read as Why have I not asked you yet. Tears came to my eyes a smile to my face and a wonderful feeling of love grew in my heart. As he sang the last words he reach behind him grasping the last rose, he came towards me getting down and one knee and asked me to marry him. I said Yes.

We opened the bottle of Dom and celebrated.
